A Dream

Biography : Ricky Ma‘s robot dream was inspired by a Japanese manga called "Plawres Sanshiro". This manga triggered him to dream about the future. He hoped he could see robots communicate with people one day and help us in daily life. In his childhood, he often followed his parents to go to industrial production lines in Hong Kong. He has experienced the era of man-made to computerized mechanical production, so he had concepts about various production techniques and skills. In order to make his childhood dream come true, he conducted research on robots while working and studying in design.

ROBOT "MARK 1"

“Mark 1” is not only a model number.
The name is included my last name “Ma”,
The finished month is in “Mar”,
The district is at “MK” (short name of Mong Kok) and
My favorite Bible verse is on “Mark” (9:23).
“If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

Mark 1 Robot was come in reality (March 31, 2016)

In 2016, it took him 18 months to finish a human like robot "Mark 1 Robot". The works have been interviewed by different news media around the world. Even international institutions, universities, professional colleges and more to invite him attending sharing talk and asked him for a cooperation. In 2018, he was invited to interviews on radio channel, TV shows and magazines in Canada and Moscow. At the same time, a British university used his works about the studies and research of Mark 1 as academic teaching materials and asked him to be one of the members of their course advisory group for BSc in Digital Enterprise and Innovation.

Mark 2 Robot was built in Canada (March 31, 2023)
After I lived in Calgary, AB, I made my “Mark 2” Life-like Robot for about two years. Finally, it was finished in 2023.
